The beautiful engravings we used for this project were created by celebrated artisan Andrew Davidson, the illustrator behind the Harry Potter covers, many Royal Mail postage stamps, the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters posters, and the glass doors at Wimbledon’s Centre Court.

Tales of The Macallan Volume I is part luxury packaging, part editorial project: a carved book with over 800 pages that includes a pop-up in its first pages and a decanter inside.

This idea became the basis for our animation as we brought the pages of the book to life, starting with the pop-up and then animating each of Andrew’s illustrations individually to tell the story of John Grant. The piece begins and ends with a 3D render of the book opening and closing that showcases the packaging and decanter.
