The Macallan Litha is a limited edition whisky release presented in bespoke packaging developed by the creative agency Potlatch, in collaboration with award-winning illustrator Sija Hong.

Pictoria was tasked with producing a campaign film for the release based on Sija’s stunning artwork. 

Sija’s exquisitely detailed illustration style relies heavily on traditional hand-drawn images. Our team developed an approach that carefully maintained the delicate nuances of Sija’s work, combining 2D animations developed from the artist’s keyframes with 3D animations that added depth to the visuals and enhanced the storytelling as we traveled between Jerez and Scotland.

For the soundtrack, we produced an original score that reinforces the idea of two worlds coming together to create something new. 

Sija’s work uses an intricate, delicate style to create powerful images that reveal more the closer you look, and that balance of forces inspired our approach to this production.
